A City that is a Delight
“See, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I will create,
for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight
and its people a joy.”
Isaiah 65:17-18
What if God intended for Huntsville to be a place that HE delighted in and its people to be a joy? Just as we, followers of Christ, live our lives “becoming” more like Christ, our cities are intended to “become” more like His Heavenly City! Scripture says,
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;
and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us,
an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.”
Ephesians 5:1-2
What we do personally and privately will change the “aroma of Huntsville” collectively and publicly! My dream, my prayer for Huntsville, is that every individual will personally pursue Christ, thus making Huntsville a city HE delights in, fully of people who are a joy!
