Why Study The Bible?

First and foremost, we study God’s WORD to know the heart of God because we love HIM TOO! ( As Beth Moore said:)  We can not say, “I love You” to God without adding the TOO, because HE LOVED US FIRST!  The more we know the heart of God, the more we will reflect the image we were made in: HIS!  We also study the Bible because God said so. The list of benefits from Bible Study is endless and eternal!   “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Word will never pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

Bon appetite- “enjoy your meal”

Prepare to feast on the verses below.  May it make you hungry for more.

“For the Word of God is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joint and of marrow and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

(Hebrews 4:12)

“Do your very best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. “

(2 Timothy 2:15)

“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

(Psalm 119:11)

“The book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

(Joshua 1:8)

“All Scripture is breathed out of God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.”

(2 Timothy 3:16-17)

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path. “

(Psalm 119:105)

“How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your Word.”

(Psalm 119:9)

“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your Word.”

(Psalm 119:18)

“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess, for He who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, NOT GIVING UP MEETING TOGETHER, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

(Hebrews 10: 23-25)

Therefore, if you are not already plugged into a Bible Study, below is a list of community studies in the Tennessee Valley.

The goal of Bible Study is not to acquire knowledge.  Rather, we gather to meet with Christ and each other, to grow in love and grace, to renew our minds, and for our lives to be transformed more into the likeness of Jesus!  The more we individually resemble Christ, the more our city will resemble Christ, thus becoming
