Prayers for Our City – July 10, 2017- School Boards

Father, we continue to cover our School Boards and Superintendents in prayer as they are busy filling teacher, principal and other staff positions before the new school year begins. Thank You, Lord, for each one of them. We appreciate their commitment and hard work. Grant them unity . We ask You, Holy Spirit, to encourage them in their mission to provide a quality education that prepares all children for a successful future. Cause them to believe that Your plans and purposes for our children’s futures are the best!
We bless the two newly hired Deputy Superintendents for Huntsville City Schools. Christie Finley was given the newly created role of Deputy Superintendent of Strategy and Innovation to ensure that we are growing students who can come back and be productive students in our own community. Help her, Lord, to find ways to make technology still prominent in the classroom, but not necessarily the priority. Give her wisdom to oversee the critical process of complying with the federal desegregation order.
Tammy Summerville was named the Deputy Superintendent of Instruction. Guide her, Lord, as she focuses on improving curriculum and instruction for our students of HSV City Schools, especially improving reading and mathematics test scores district-wide.
Again, we thank You for the School Boards of Huntsville/Madison County who watch over the education of our children. We ask You, Lord, to guide each of them and enable them to be the voice of encouragement and wisdom to our principals, teachers, civic leaders, students and parents.
