Prayers for Our City: Media March 14, 2015
“..teaching you to be honest and to speak the truth, so that you bring back truthful reports to those you serve.”
Proverbs 22:21
Lord, there are so many influencers over our city we don’t often cover with prayer. As we think about this power and pray for the Media Mountain this week, we unite to cover those using radio to broadcast their message and music to influence and entertain our community. [Pray by name for your favorite stations and those you know in this medium.] We bless these radio stations and we declare the fear of the Lord upon all who own and operate them – that they will acquire God’s wisdom and discern and distain propaganda. (Job 28:28, Ps. 111:10, Prov. 9:10) We cry out to You, Lord, to “set a guard over their mouths and keep the door of their lips. (Ps. 141:3)

We thank You, Father, for our community’s campus FM radio stations and the educational and internship opportunities they provide for students. We pray that You will capture these student’s hearts, minds and mouths at this early stage and call them to serve You by broadcasting truth. Teach them about the power of the tongue that brings death or life (Prov. 18:21) and instill in them a desire to encourage and inspire.

Thank You, Father, for our Christian/conservative stations that send out messages of truth and righteousness through the airways over Huntsville/Madison County. We ask for increase. We ask for more news programs that give understandable and accurate reporting of local and world events. We ask for more discussion and talk shows which give honest and accurate assessments and evaluations of issues. Raise up those (especially among our youth) who will have a fearless voice for Your Kingdom on the Media Mountain.
