“Same Kind of Different As Me: Movie Review” by April Boddie

Typically when there is a movie that is based on a book, as a reader I am first-off reluctant to go and see it, and more often than not disappointed when I finally do…
Why? I’m glad you asked,
Because they left out too many vital points.
Because I was NOT picturing the characters to look that way.
Because It’s too soft, too hard…
Can I just say that Same Kind of Different Kind As Me was just right!

This book was a story of friendship and walked-out faith in abundant proportions.
The movie lived up to every sentence; it spoke when it needed to and was silent where words were just not necessary.

Renee Zellweger? As the leading lady, she took me aback. I have always seen her as Bridgette Jones, but after her stellar performance in this Movie, I shall forever see her as Mrs. Debbie.

I take my hat off to both of the leading men in this movie too. Both of their roles bought me and my entire row to tears several times.

This movie is a family movie, a date night movie, a girl’s night movie, and an overall feel good movie.

I truly believe that we all left with a desire to dare to not only dream Big audacious dreams, but to also walk them out! There were many lines in the movie that were quote-worthy, but the one that has stuck most to me is, “When You is precious God, you become important to Satan.”

I encourage you all get out to the theaters and see this cinema masterpiece on the big screen! And when you do come back and comment your favorite line ❤️

Lastly get out in this deteriorating world and serve without limits for because as Denver so eloquently said, “You never know who’s eyes God is watching you through.”

Loved the movie! Went with my husband and two friends who loved it too. Made me cry more than once. And my favorite quote was the one you liked as well…”When you is precious to God, you become important to Satan.”

Favorite Line: “Whether we’s rich, whether we’s poor, or some in between… We’s all homeless. Every last one of us. Just working our way back home. Welcome Home…”
