7 Mountain Prayer Initiative

Our objective is to pray in unity for HSV/Madison County over the 7 Mountains (mind molders) of culture:  Religion (Church), Family, Government, Education, Business (Economy), Media,  Arts & Entertainment.  Our theme scripture is Proverbs 11:11 “Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.”  We want our hearts of gratitude and unity to declare positive, scriptural blessings on our region that overcome murmuring and complaining.  God already knows the problems, so we focus on praying His promises that will cause His Kingdom to come and His will to be done!  Each Saturday we will feature one of the “mountains” and leaders who are influencing that aspect of our community.  The scriptures and prayer offered are intended to kick-start your own.

Periodically, an opportunity will be announced to gather for a prayer session together at a location representing one of the 7 Mountains in our community.  It’s amazing how much insight you gain when praying on site!

First Prayer Focus: Government

 “For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit…”    1 Corinthians 12:8

Today as we focus on the Government Mountain, Father, we ask you to bless our Mayors Tommy Battle of Huntsville and Troy Trulock of Madison.   Holy Spirit, would You  grant them gifts of words of wisdom and words of knowledge as they oversee the affairs of our communities.  Thank You for Your hand of grace and guidance upon them, Father, as they fulfill these responsibilities:

The Mayor

Appoints: All city Department heads

Enforces: Ordinances/Resolutions/Orders

Proposes: Annual Budget

Approves: Financing of City operations

Executes and Administers: Contracts on behalf of City

We  ask on their behalf for the blessing of good health physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. (III John 1:2)  We ask that You provide protection and strengthening of their marriages and family relationships.  Even as they work tirelessly for economic soundness in our communities, may You bless their personal finances.   Help them balance their time and priorities, not forgetting to see to their personal health.  And most important, may they grow and prosper spiritually.  (II Peter 3:18)
