Prayers for Our City: September 23, 2019 – Family
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go,…” Genesis 28:15 NKJV
Father God, we are so aware that our Huntsville metro area [this includes Madison and Limestone counties] is growing quickly! In one years’ time, 2017-2018, this area gained nearly 6,000 people through domestic and foreign migration – that equates to 112 people per week! (HSV Times 9/13/19) These numbers represent precious individual lives that you are intimately aware of, Father.
We choose to believe that You lead people to our community to bless them with abundant life in Jesus! As they take root in our neighborhoods and begin influencing the 7 cultural mountains, we bless them with a new (or renewed) encounter with the saving, healing, delivering power, or Jesus’ love.
Father, give the Believers of the Huntsville metro area welcoming hearts to receive and minister to all who are moving to this area desiring to become connected. These are our new neighbors! We bless them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Let it fill their new homes, dispelling discord, pain, loneliness, illness, anxiety, and all darkness. May their homes be safe-havens, guarded and blessed by You.
We bless our new neighbors with wisdom as they make so many choices in our community. Plant in their hearts the fear of the Lord so they will understand what is right, just, and fair and be able to find the right way to go. Deliver them from traps/temptations of the evil one. Grant them spiritual understanding to grow in their knowledge of You. Flood their hearts with light so they can understand the confident hope and glorious inheritance You give.
Establish the work of their hands. May their jobs provide for the needs of their own family with extra to share with others. Give the children and teens success and healthy friendships at school. Connect them to the church family that will love and equip them best.
“And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.” Psalm 90:17
[Be alert and discover who is a “new neighbor” in your cultural sphere of influence at work, school, church, neighborhood, so that you can be the one God uses to welcome them with His Life and Love.]
