Prayers for Our City: Holy Week 2017
Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD. Ps. 118:26
May our eyes be opened to see You, Jesus, coming to Huntsville/Madison County!! Awaken our hope that You will save us. We welcome You now with joy! We know You have come; but You will yet come, to reveal the Name and Glory of God. Fill our hearts and minds with the reality of Your love for our city. Shine out through our lives this week in ways that captures the attention and desire of many who have ignored or rejected You.
Jesus, as we live and work in our sphere of influence on the mountains of culture, we pray to be captivated by Your example of humble, loving service. Knowing who we are in You, enables us to lay down pride and self-will in order to be sensitive to the needs of family, co-workers, neighbors, and “the least of these” in our city.
“..when He had given thanks, He broke the loaf and gave it to them
saying, This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance
of Me….This cup is the new covenant ratified in My blood which is poured
out for you. Luke 22:19-20
Holy Spirit, enable us to daily remember what Jesus sacrificed for our salvation, healing, deliverance, restoration and freedom! Take us deep into the revelation of all that His suffering, death and resurrection accomplished
Jesus we bless You and love You. We desire with all our hearts to praise and thank You enough for who You are and what You did for us! The best way we know to truly thank You is to share Your life, love and resurrection power with others so Your family will keep growing.
We pray great grace and anointing on every Easter related outreach that lifts up Your Name in our city this week. Bless every dramatization, every musical, all the children’s activities, each church service, and family gathering. We know You will draw people if we make You real. Help us point everyone to the cross and the joy of Your resurrection.
