Back to School Prayer Challenge

This week’s “Bright Spot” is YOU – engaging in a back-to-school prayer challenge from City Intercessor, Connie Oakley.  Let’s join in lifting up the schools, students  and teachers in our community!

I would like to submit a prayer challenge to you readers of OCOAH.  In this week before schools begin, you are challenged to go to the school(s) your children, grandchildren, or the neighborhood kids attend to pray a blessing over it.  Spend a little time at the property (yes, sitting in your air conditioned car counts) and see what prayer thoughts flow when you are looking at the actual property.  I believe we can cover every school in the city and county through this challenge which includes blessing our private, Christian and homeschool education as well.

If you’re up for a bigger challenge…..discipline yourself to be a constant “drive-by blesser!”   Here is the quick blessing I use whenever I pass a school/university in this city:
“I bless __(name)___ school in Your precious Name, Lord Jesus.
Pour out Your peace, protection, provision, purity, and Presence here!!”

I also want to give thanks and honor to the faithful Moms In Prayer (formerly Moms In Touch) groups that meet weekly throughout the city to pray for their children’s schools.  I love being proactive in bringing His peace into our schools.  We don’t wait for problems to start praying —  we prevent them!!

Blessings,
Connie Oakley
