“How We Fight” by Brittany Brown

How we fight … it’s not the gestures we make but the stands we take. Are you happy one day sad the next? Encouraged today discouraged tomorrow? Have you allowed people or circumstances to navigate the course of your day? Well, it’s time to reposition yourself. Get up and fight.

The Bible speaks about how we, as children of God, are seated with Him in heavenly places in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 2:6). That tells me that I’m above bad days, bad attitudes, any situation or circumstance that may come up against me! I’m seated above, so I need to look at my situation from where I am positioned (seated) and not where I’m standing.

But… where you stand is just as important because that is where you deal with what happens in the physical realm. See, the Bible also tells us how to stand against the wiles of the devil by putting on the full armor of God.

“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” (Ephesians 6:14-18a NKJV)

Be prepared for the battles you may face and know that you have all the weapons you need to win! Fighting from victory and not for victory! The battle has already been won. The Lord said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33b, NIV)

She currently lives in Huntsville, Alabama, but she is originally from Chicago, Illinois where at a young age she felt a pull toward Jesus Christ and a love for the church. She is currently a member of the Branch Family Worship Center under the leadership of pastors John and Debbie Wilson. Like David, Brittany just wants to serve God’s purpose in her generation – communicating her experiences, knowledge, and her life as an example to others. Her life’s purpose is to make a great commitment to always keep God in the center of her life, to flush out worry and fill up with peace, to drive out chaos and keep the peace, and to always exemplify Christ-like behavior. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 6:33. Seek the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

Beautiful! Thank you for that reminder. I work in an office that is not always bright and cheery, and with a voice that doesn’t always know how it sounds when it speaks to others (as I’ve recently come to observe) and often struggle with not letting my environment sour my mood or day. I had never thought about the fact that being seated with God means I am already above those things. To respond with light and love is to combat the influences of Satan.

Brittany you have a way of writing that is light and airy. See God though your eyes makes one hungry for more knowledge of the word.
