“It’s Your Heart” by Morgan Myers

It’s Your Heart

(inspired by Isaiah 1)

It is your heart He is after, can’t you see?

Me?

Yes, YOU.

No, no not me. I am simple, not influential, as normal as they come. I attend, join in but my heart…It’s numb. I am good but guarded, my affections have parted, joy a thing of the past. Give Him my heart? I have tried that, but we know it doesn’t last.

It is your heart He is after, can’t you see?
He does not want ALL THE THINGS. The goals, the rewards, the fancy feasts. your checking boxes, getting locked in, what you are involved in…your strong opinions and your views. No, all He wants is you.

How does that work?
I’ll tell you how; It starts by laying your life down.
Your plans, your fears, questions that you hold back. Your past your patterns and all you think you lack. LAY IT DOWN. Hear Him when He says it’s finished it is through. You give Him the old and what do you get? NEW.

It is your heart He is after, can’t you see?
All He requires is that you be emptied. Poor in spirit and ready to receive all that He has which is more than your mind can conceive.
To fill you with His life…That is His desire. To be your source, your companion, your lover and provider.

Oh how simple to enjoy Him, yet so easy to forget
that He is with me in this very moment.
In the morning, in the evening, in the middle of the day “come lets reason together” you can hear Him say. To be CONSIDERED in your steps, in all your mundane moves, to be thought of in the mists of all of your “To Dos”.

He has my heart… What NOW?

NOW our call is for the people the lonely, hurting and oppressed to love as we have been loved to bless as we have been blessed. To speak the same that has been spoken over me… ” It is your heart He is after, can’t you see?”
