Prayers for Our City: April 2, 2018 – Government/Business

“My commitment is to serve for the Glory of God and the good of man. I humbly ask for your prayers and your support…”

From swearing-in speech by Gov. Ivey 4/12/17

Since Governor Kay Ivey will be in our city today (4/2) for an annual address to local business and civic leaders, we take this opportunity to speak prayers of blessing over her. This sold out Chamber of Commerce event at the VBC is the governor’s opportunity to update the business community on key state issues and discuss further development and progress.

Father, we thank You for the work the Governor has done this past year to accomplish her first priority of “steadying the ship of state.” We ask that You continue to enable her administration to be open, transparent, and honest. May she experience Your wisdom in all her deliberations and speak and carry out dealings with truth; free from any corruption. We bless her with health and stamina. We pray that her relationship with You, Jesus, is a constant source of encouragement, peace, and joy!

We pray peace and civility over the upcoming Governor campaign and the election process. From the pool of good choices, we pray You will guide our selection of the righteous leaders You want over our state.

We also bless our Chamber of Commerce and the upcoming annual Fly-in trip that approximately 175 of our civic and business leaders will make to Washington, D.C.  April 15-17. Guide every conversation and oversee every connection made with congressional leaders, NASA officials, military leaders, and other federal leaders who have a role in north Alabama’s economy.

We acknowledge that Your Hand is blessing our city and region and humbly ask for Your continued protection, creativity, ingenuity, prosperity, compassion, vision and LOVE!

“But you shall remember the Lord your God,
for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth…”
Deuteronomy 8:18 NAS
