Prayers for Our City: April 9, 2018 – Family

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 NIV

Father God, as we pray concerning Autism Awareness month, we thank You that You are ready to perform miracle breakthroughs for many children and families dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They are in Your Hands; You see them, Oh God. Fill the Body of Christ here in Huntsville/ Madison County with more awareness and compassion; that we would have Your eyes of love, caring, patience and encouragement for these children and their family members. Like You do with every one of us, Lord, we look past limitations to see the gifts and potential that these special needs children and adults have to offer. Cover and shelter them from rejection and fear.

Oh, Father, we ask You to encourage and strengthen the hearts and minds of the parents and caregivers that are raising autistic children. We pray that You give them wisdom how to raise these children that are truly a gift from You. Provide the resources and guidance they need to bring out their child’s best so they will be able to fulfill Your purpose for their life. (See a powerful “Prayer for Autism” here.)

We bless the nonprofit organizations in our community that are providing assistance for our autism families in the form of support networks, help through the process of evaluating education options and financial resources. Grant safety, good weather and great support for the 2018 Walk for Autism on April 14th. Click here to participate.

Oh Lord, the numbers show now that 1 in every 68 children are affected with some degree of ASD. That is heartbreaking! So we lift up those who are searching for answers: medically, nutritionally, educationally, musically and spiritually. Holy Spirit, bring discernment that leads to discoveries! May the missing puzzle pieces be put in place through Your grace and truth.

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC
