Prayers for Our City: July 22, 2019 – Media

“These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another, judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.”  Zechariah 8:16 NASB

This week, Father, we pray for all those who serve as journalists and news reporters and anchors for Huntsville/Madison County, presenting news and providing commentary through the Media Mountain. We bless them with the ability to reveal truth and provide stability and confidence in an otherwise uncertain situation. These positions are high profile and powerful as the community looks to them as representatives of truth. May the fear of the Lord be upon them because Your Word says that is the beginning of wisdom, and all who follow Your precepts have good understanding. (Ps. 111:10) Continue to grant our media leaders the ability to report news in ways that generate justice and care; and that avoid glorifying violence, lawlessness, and hopelessness.

We pray for their safety and protection as they respond to breaking news rapidly to offer information and interpretation. Comfort and enable them to cast their cares on You as they witness first hand the tragedies and suffering that go on in our community.

We bless our TV station General Managers:
WHNT 19 – Stan Pylant
WAAY 31 – Paul Dughi
WAFF 48 – Dave Thomason
WZDX Fox 54 – Mark Overstreet

And Alabama Media Group President – Tom Bates

To pray over names and faces of our local Media leaders, go to these websites: WHNT, WAAY, WAFF, WZDX, Alabama Media Group.

Father, as we pray Your blessings over the Media Mountain of Huntsville/Madison County, we believe that You are placing great desire in our media representatives to discern Your ways, Your wonders, Your thoughts. Give them joy in discovering and reporting the modern-day signs and wonders You are performing in our midst.

“O LORD my God, you have performed many wonders for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. You have no equal. If I tried to recite [report] all your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.”  Psalm 40:5 NLT
