Prayers for Our City-July 25, 2016
“Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge,…” Proverbs 1:7
We are asking and thanking You in advance today, Father God, for Your best for the 2016-17 school year. We pray for the release of the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord which is the foundation of true knowledge in the schools of Huntsville/Madison County. (Isaiah 11:3) We ask for Your supernatural help to meet the needs of every administrator, teacher, counselor, support staff, student and parent for this school year. We invite Your Kingdom rule, and declare that righteousness will be done. We affirm Your Word that evil shall not rule our schools (Ps. 125:3).
As our teachers start back this week, Lord, we bless and thank You for each one and ask you to refresh their noble calling as educators. Stir up their teaching gift and love for their students. Enable them to have efficient time management, creative planning, and health and energy for their work. Increase their wisdom in assessing and understanding the needs of the students. Raise up class room assistants and volunteers with helpful, willing, faithful spirits. Bless each teacher’s ability to communicate and collaborate with their administration and their teaching staff and support personnel.
Make the teachers who know and love You so contagious that Your love will go viral this year!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you return to school this year. Have a great year with students you love and that love you! We pray for your safety and protection and for creative and inventive ideas to teach the curriculum. We pray God’s blessings on you for what you do as you follow your calling to be an educator! We love and appreciate all of you and are thankful for you and all you do each day for the children! Hold your head high and be proud of who you are and that you are an educator! You are members of one of the noblest professions!
