Prayers for Our City: September 30, 2019 – Religion

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper that love thee.” Psalm 122:6 KJV

Father, we rejoice and join the celebration with our Jewish friends as they observe Rosh Hashanah (September 20), meaning “head of the year.” This Hebraic New Year is 5780 on Your calendar, God. And just as the season represented the time for the Israelites to bring in the harvest and give a “firstfruits” offering to the Lord, we too want to honor You with the wealth You have places in our hands.

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing and your vats will bring over with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10 NIV

Thank You that when we honor Your with our finances, You promise to not only supply our needs but to bless us with plenty. You are such a gracious Father! You’ve also given us a promise of special blessings when we bless Israel. (Genesis 12:3). So we pray for peace, Your shalom, in Jerusalem and all Israel. For supernatural rest and reconciliation with those who have hated this nation for generations.

We pray shalom over the chaos and division going on in Israel’s national elections right not (in hopes that our own nations’ election process could be more peaceful). We thank You for Huntsville’s connections to Israel in contributing to their defense and protection, for Alabama’s historic stand for Israel, and that our current national administration has strengthened the United States’ alliance with Israel. Show the Body of Christ how to counter anti-Semestic attitudes in our spheres of influence.

Praise You, Lord, that an annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (first Sunday in October) has been established to raise global awareness and intercession for Your purposes to be accomplished in Israel.

[Visit this website Day to Pray to see how you and your church can participate in the annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem which is October 6 this year; uniting with 500 million believers from 175 nations raising a cry to Heaven on behalf of this troubled, but strategic land and its people.] We believe in Your promises of Your beloved Israel, Lord, and fervently pray to hasten the day when You bring fulfillment to Your Word.
