Seven Mountain Prayer for Our City: Church
For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober (clear-minded). I Thess. 5:5-6
As we dedicate 2016 to You, Father God, we praise You for Your faithfulness to the Body of Christ of Huntsville/Madison County. There is much to be done in our city, Lord, but first we thank You for all that You HAVE done here. We welcome anew Your deep love not only for those of us who know You, but for those who have not awakened to Your love and light YET! May 2016 be a year of great awakening here in Huntsville.
We pray for the Church to awaken and be the children of the day that are needed in this dark hour. Remove any veils from our eyes to see clearly and be fully awake to Your beauty, love and authority. Enable us to let go and unlearn any false ideologies or teachings about You; to truly submit to the teachings of Christ so that we may manifest fruit to those who are still in the dark of night.
Jesus, You came as the Light of the world. You deposited Your light into the lives of all who believe, then charged us not to hide it. Help us respond to Your call to arise and shine. Enable us to manifest the new nature You have given us. In this new year may we sound the alarm and let the invitation shine through us as a beacon for all to see.
We are asking and believing for many, many in this city to respond to Your love and light through us!

As we kick off 2016, we are including a reintroduction to the Seven Mountain Prayer Initiative below.
Our objective is to pray in unity for HSV/Madison County over the 7 Mountains (mind molders) of culture: Religion (Church), Family, Government, Education, Business (Economy), Media, Arts & Entertainment. Our theme scripture is Proverbs 11:11 “Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.” We want our hearts of gratitude and unity to declare positive, scriptural blessings on our region that overcome murmuring and complaining. God already knows the problems, so we focus on praying His promises that will cause His Kingdom to come and His will to be done!
Each Monday we will feature one of the “mountains” and leaders who are influencing that aspect of our community. The scriptures and prayer offered are intended to kick-start your own.
